Selecting efficient interventions against disinformation.

Global Digital Literacy Interventions

Our team has built successful internationalised media literacy interventions that have undergone the most thorough academic effectiveness assessments in the field, as well as have been localised in as many as 30+ different regions globally.

With GIS as the horizon, we wish to replicate our assessment framework, effectiveness improvement and localisation/ internationalisation processes and make them available for all local media literacy interventions through official Field labs.

Field Labs

These Field Labs will serve as hubs for research, innovation, and training in news and media literacy. By bringing together experts from different fields, the Field Labs will be able to develop tailored solutions to the unique challenges faced by each region.

The Field Labs will also serve as a platform for sharing best practices and experiences in news and media literacy. By disseminating this knowledge, GIS hopes to increase the overall impact of news and media literacy initiatives worldwide.

This package of services allows for the ensured vetting high expertise operations of the Field labs. These centres will test, rate, improve and certify the impact of third-party news literacy solutions and provide a marketplace for international localisation.

Evidence Based

GIS is committed to using evidence-based approaches to tackling the challenge of misinformation. With the help of the Field Labs and the assessment framework, GIS will continue to work towards its goal of building a more informed and empowered world.

By providing these services, Global Impact Studios hope to create regional hubs for research, innovation, and training in news and this package of services allows for the ensured vetting high expertise operations of the Field labs.

The tool and the program are based on MVP’s that are successfully tested together with partners such as Cambridge University, and the Dutch Journalism Fund. the network of GIS field labs is scaling up these methods for widespread distribution.

For national policy makers, it's a constant challenge to combat disinformation. Every outbreak, they order interventions in order to protect democratic flow of ideas. This is especially true if you're a in charge of elections. The main problem they face is there’s no simple way to select efficient interventions, which leads to reflexive outdated communication strategies. Today, their best option is to double down on what they did yesterday, but of course, they don’t want to stifle expression. With many , the problem will only get worse over time. If only there was a easier/better/cheaper way to buy tested efficient interventions, the customers could just sit back which would lead to better policy outcomes. With 50000 governmental bodies in Europe, there is a clear opportunity to meaningfully impact a huge number of people.
